French Pennie Window

The French Pennies Window was a unique project that combined traditional stained glass craftsmanship with an unexpected decorative element. The design incorporated U.S. pennies at each solder joint throughout the window, creating a distinctive visual feature while also providing a consistent and uniform appearance across the entire piece.

By using pennies as the foundation for each solder connection, the window gained a sense of rhythm and continuity that helped unify the overall design. The circular shape of the coins created visual points of interest where the lead lines intersected, adding texture, depth, and character to the finished work. At the same time, the repeated use of the pennies brought balance and consistency to the composition, allowing the eye to move naturally throughout the window.
